to the Wickham Manor Web site. Wickham
Manor is an historic property built in the 16th century and now owned by the National Trust. It
is the family home of Sally and Mason Palmer and the centre of their 750 acre organic farm, which
surrounds the historic town of Winchelsea.
Please take time to visit our organic lamb shop.
Take a tour of the farm and see our organic
farming methods. Have a look around the house and maybe even book a B&B
visit. You can even bring your horse with you on your stay and enjoy wonderful riding
on the farm and in the locality. OPEN DAY What a success the first time we threw our doors open to the public on the 7th May.
700 people turned up on one of the best days May had to offer. The stalls were
buzzing and the tea room had a steady queue. The Berkshire pigs were a great favorite, as was Louis the bull. Everybody
enjoyed seeing the animals in their natural environment with many interesting
questions being asked. The children loved the pet lamb corner and were very
hands on with the bottle feeding. Their faces were a joy to watch. There were brisk sales in the farm shop and the Berkshire pig roast sold out,
with many people praising the distinctive texture and flavour of the meat. The farm shop is now officially open to the public Tuesday to Friday
9am - 5pm. Orders can be placed by phone and picked up by prior arrangement at
the weekends. Please phone the shop on 01797 225575 or 07944 054946.
