Wickham Manor News

Some sad news for all those who follow the farm. Tom and Jerry, Mason's working collies were to be put down in 2008. Tom suffered a stroke and Jerry slipped a disc while working and became paralysed. They were both 14 years old and enjoyed life to the end. They are both sadly missed.

Hunter, a Hunterway, which is a New Zealand breed of sheep dog has now joined the workforce. He is about 16 months old and showing a lot of promise. We chose this breed as Jerry was half Hunterway and half Collie and he was brilliant.

Also sadly Louis the bull was put down, on the farm, in 2007. He had severe arthritis in his hips and was beginning to lose condition. We didn't think it was fair on him to go through another winter. Billy his understudy is superb and looks just like Louis.
